Ready for more baseball? Upper Perk Youth Baseball invites all players seeking additional instruction and the opportunity to compete against other community teams to try out for our 2027 travel teams.
Tryouts take place on Sunday, October 18, 2026, at the UPYBA Minors Field. All times are Eastern.

2027 9U Travel
10:00–11:30 a.m.
Date of birth: May 1, 2017–April 30, 2018 (inclusive).
Arrive at 9:45 a.m.
2027 10U Travel
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Date of birth: May 1, 2016–April 30, 2017 (inclusive).
Arrive at 11:15 a.m.
2027 11U Travel
11:30 a.m.–1:00 p.m.
Date of birth: May 1, 2015–April 30, 2016 (inclusive).
Arrive at 11:15 a.m.
Ready for tryouts
Please wear:
- Any rec ball jersey
- Hat
- Baseball pants
- Cleats
Players trying out as catchers may bring their own catcher’s gear.

9U players: arrive at 9:45 a.m. for the 10:00 a.m. session. 10U and 11U players: arrive at 11:15 a.m. for the 11:30 a.m. session.
Tryout questions
Players must attend a tryout to qualify for travel team participation during the year. If your player cannot attend, you may request an alternate tryout time as close to the original date as possible. Contact Mike Golebiewski to discuss your situation.
If a player cannot try out because of injury or health, the Board of Directors will review the situation. Players returning from injury must still participate in a tryout.
The Travel Director/Head of Player Development organizes tryouts using a Board-approved evaluation structure. Each player is evaluated by a panel of at least three qualified evaluators. Head coaches may be present for their tryouts but do not help during tryouts.
The top six scores in each age group automatically qualify for that eligible age-group team. The head coach, with input from the coaching staff, selects additional players for a roster of 12–14. For B-level teams, the Board will attempt to accommodate as many players as possible; roster sizes may vary.
Assessment scores are confidential and may only be shared with the Travel Committee and head coach.
The bylaws call for player notification after coaches select their teams and within 48 hours of tryout completion. Under the bylaws, a player who has not been notified within 48 hours was not selected.
