Volunteers play a vital role in our program. Thank you for your interest in volunteering. Below is the info and links on the clearance requirements put into place with the 2019 chartering year by Babe Ruth/Cal Ripken Baseball. In order to be compliant with the State of PA we are required to have the following on file for every volunteer in our organization (minus snack stand):
The following clearances are required by all volunteers (head coaches, assistant coaches, team parents, anyone with frequent and direct contacts with kids on the field or the dugout.)
- Pennsylvania Child Abuse History Clearances (CY113)
- Pennsylvania (State Police) Criminal Record Checks for Volunteers (SP4-164A).
- Federal Bureau of Investigations (FBI) Criminal Background Check (fingerprinting) OR if you have lived in PA for more than 10 years, you just need to complete the Disclosure Statement Application for Volunteers.
- Once you complete all THREE steps above and have obtained PDF copies of the documents above, please go to the UPYBA Cal Ripken League website. Create an account and complete the three items listed below. Please know there is a cost of $25.50 and we do not profit from this nor does the UPYBA reimburse you for this cost.
- National criminal database background screen
- Sex offender registry search
- Completion of online Sexual Abuse training
